Landfill caps and leachate ponds rely on a continuous liner, and the soil on top must stay put through rain and freeze-thaw. Geocell anchors that cover layer on slopes where it would otherwise creep downhill.
Using geocell lets designers keep steeper side slopes, which means more storage volume on the same footprint, with less cover soil lost to erosion.
